Finding A Basenji Breeder

So you've decided the basenji is the right breed for you. You've learned what questions to ask a breeder. Now you need to locate a reputable breeder.

You can go to shows to meet breeders, do a search on the Internet, ask friends where they got theirs, and check magazine and newspaper ads.
No one of these methods is always right and always wrong. All these sources will provide you with names of reputable basenji breeders, and those you should stay away from. It is your job to evaluate them. Educate yourself and be an informed puppy buyer. Know what to ask, so that you are able to determine whether a breeder is reputable, or one that you should walk away from.

As a Basenji Club of America member, I have the member roster, and would be happy to send you the names of breeders in your area, as well as your state's rescue contact.

Please feel free to contact me for any help you may need. I am always happy to answer your questions, and if I can't help you, I'll find someone who can. My goal is that each basenji be placed in its "forever" home right from the start. This can only happen if those looking for a basenji are educated and armed with the information needed to make a wise decision.
